Indeedy, at E3 a little earlier Microsoft finally put an end to the “just get on and announce it” mutterings going on around the net with revalation that is Forza 3.

In a short but sweet announcement, Dan Greenwald, boss of Turn 10 reeled off a spate of features that include 400 cars from 50 manufacturers with wround 100 tracks on release.  How many of these will be ribbons of tracks we are yet to find out about.

There is a hefty chink of user and community interactivity too as Forza 3 will supply gamers with a wealth of tools to allow customisation and painting of liveries to be shared amongst other people on live.  If that isn’t enough there will also be a video editor so you can film your latest drifts, races, stunts and upload them for the community to see.

Additions to the game will make this more accessible to every type of players whether it be a new or an experienced one.  One touch racing will cater for the new kids on the block right through to the professional modes that we accustomed too now.  Fans of Grid will see the rewind time addition so you can replay those tricky moments in races where you have made mistakes.  Whether this is a good or a bad thing will be seen in time and closer to release.

“Forza Motorsport 3″ is an epic racing game featuring more content and more ways to play than any racing title today. An innovative single-player season mode puts you through a completely personalized racing calendar that includes more than 200 different events, including Circuit, Oval, Drag, Drift and Timed Events. No two calendars are the same; they react to the cars you love and the races you enjoy most. In addition, the online multiplayer mode* gains an all-new game rules editor. This gives players a never-ending variety of ways to play with friends. Whether you’re a speedster, dragster, drifter, painter, tuner or just a lover of cars, “Forza Motorsport 3″ is the definitive racing game for you.

The only thing that is slightly bothering me at the moment is the handling and the physics with the car on the track.  From the demo that I saw it didn’t see much of an improvement over Forza 2 but I hope that I am proved wrong.

Forza 3 is due for release in October.
