EA Sports have today released a new trailer featuring one of the new additions to Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13.

Tiger Legacy Challenge lets you relive Tiger’s most memorable golf accomplishments as he rises from a child prodigy to a golfing legend.

Revisit each era of Tiger’s career, from his Toddler Years practicing in his backyard, to his first television appearance on The Mike Douglas Show, thru his epic victories at the Masters.

Play through and complete each era to unlock bonus in game content.

I am now awaiting the comments about being able to relive the infidelity era of his life!

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 cover athletes decided

EA Sports announced today that Rickie Fowler and Rory McIlroy have been selected by the fans to join Tiger Woods on the cover of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 in North America and Europe, respectively.

Their victories come on the heels of a three week voting contest that sparked debates amongst golf enthusiasts and campaigning by the world’s top golfers through their personal social media channels. During the final week of voting, Rickie Fowler defeated Bubba Watson by a final margin of 51% to 49% to win the American side of the bracket in the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 Match Play cover vote, while Rory McIlroy defeated Luke Donald by a final margin of 54% to 46% to win the European side.

Similar to previous EA SPORTS cover athlete votes for Madden NFL and NCAA Football, community reaction to the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13 Match Play cover vote was overwhelmingly positive for providing fans an opportunity to decide who they think should be on the cover. Showing tremendous enthusiasm and engagement throughout the three week contest, fans cast more than 250,000 votes from over 35 countries around the world.

“Over the past several weeks we’ve been thrilled to witness the passion of our fans for this competition as well as the golfers who have actively rallied their fan base for this unique honor,” EA SPORTS Marketing Director Craig Evans said. “Fan engagement has been critical to the development and success of the Tiger Woods PGA TOUR franchise over the past decade and it’s great to see so many fans excited about the cover vote and Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 13.”

From October 3 through October 24, fans of the Tiger Woods PGA TOURFacebook page participated in a “match play” style cover vote, choosing from 16 of the best golfers from around the world to find both an American and European representative to join Tiger Woods on the cover of the next iteration of the popular golf franchise in their respective region.

“Appearing on the cover of Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 11 was an amazing experience and helped introduce me to a whole new fan base around the world,” said Rory McIlroy. “But this year holds special meaning because it was the fans who decided to put me on the cover once again.”

Fans to vote for Tiger Woods 13 cover athlete

For the first time in franchise history, EA Sports is giving fans an opportunity to vote and determine who will join Tiger Woods on the cover of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13.

From October 3 through 23, fans can participate in a match play bracket-style voting campaign on www.facebook.com/tigerwoodspgatour and choose among 16 golfers who in total have amassed over 100 combined PGA Tour and European Tour victories, multiple rookie and player of the year awards and four major wins – including the last two US Open champions.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, which launches in March 2012, will have two versions of the box art – one to appear in North America and one in Europe. Eight American golfers will be featured on one side of the bracket and eight European golfers on the opposite side, with two golfers going head-to-head each week until a winner is determined on each side. The winners will be announced via Facebook on October 24.

On the American side of the bracket, the candidates include:

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12: The Masters – Review (360, PS3)

A lot of things can happen in a year, but perhaps one thing we didn’t expect was for good ol Tiger Woods to be caught, literally with his trousers down, in a scandal that rocked his career.

After all of this news became public a lot of his sponsors dropped him like a bad smell but there is one constant to all of this and that is that the next version of the Tiger Woods franchise is out now and as this title is focussing on the Masters it has been released just in time for the … um … Masters.

The Masters and especially the Augusta course represents the holy grail for any golf game as the amount of time that it has been seen in one is very few and far between, probably due to extortionate licensing fees or the Augusta staff not deeming a certain game appropriate for its classy affair.

So, now EA Sports has bagged the Unicorn of golfing courses into its list of 15 other courses in this edition, it is also time to freshen up the career paths too and focus it directly towards the famous course itself and one of the most famous of all golfing competitions. Starting out as a amateur golfer and using the staple Tiger Woods XP system to build your golfer up in different areas, you now need to progress through different tournaments and seasons to progress to the next tour. By completing certain tasks within that season will you be able to advance to the next bracket of golfing tours with increasing difficulty until you finally reach the pinnacle of the sport and get invited to play at the Masters itself. This provides a fresh and exciting, as well as challenging on occasion, way of playing the career mode. It provides focus on a goal, an achievement, that you didn’t see in the other versions of the game. Being able to repeat a calendar year over and over only had a limited appeal but with the road to the Masters there is an end game to be achieved.

Also, completing certain tasks and challenges during a round will give you XP to add to your golfers stats as well as provide sponsorship deals with golfing companies that provide your unlocks through the golf shop. Again, being able to provide a little more realism here and depth to gain your clothing and accessories for certain multipliers works really well in the general scheme of the game.

Another major feature in this year’s edition is the addition of a caddie who will help you around a course. Of course, you don’t have to pay any attention to him and you can also switch him off but he is there to guide you with essential information on club selection, distance and a choice of shots based on various risks. This feature does work exceptionally well and as you gain a mastery of each hole on a particular course, the information that you receive from the caddie becomes a lot more precise. This is a great way to be introduced to the world of the Tiger Woods franchise for beginners as well as adding a little more depth to the game.

Of course, your multiplayer elements and Gamernet challenges, as well as club tuning make a much welcomed return to this edition but there are a couple of little Masters related features that have been added too. The first is Masters Moments where you will be able to play through various memorable moments in Masters history to try and replicate the events that unfolded. Also included is Tiger at the Masters where you will be given the chance to again replicate Tiger and try to beat his score on certain holes of the course.

Overall, Tiger Woods 12: The Masters delivers a fresh and exciting package that I really thought would not be possible. The amount of times that I have sai in the past couple of year “They really need to come up with something special to keep this franchise alive!” and yet again, EA Sports have delivered the goods offering variety, new features as well as freshening up a stale career mode whilst introducing one of the daddy’s of all golfing courses.

Tiiger Woods 12: The Masters sets its stall out well with beautifully crafted imagery, laser scanning every single blade of grass on the Augusta course for the ultimate in immersion. The addition of over 20 new golfers freshens the line up well and the addition of many of the top 16 Championship courses from around the world give a nice of balance of technical and famous holes.

If you have skipped a couple of editions of Tiger Woods then this is something that you may want to consider buying as the changes are quite big in terms of the way the game is packaged inside. For those people that are hooked on the brand and franchise then this really is a no brainer and is worth, yet again, the asking price for the title.

EA Sports signs Rhys Davies to Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 The Masters

EA announced the signing of Welsh golf pro Rhys Davies as the latest addition to the recently revealed Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12: The Masters. Rhys will become a brand ambassador for EA Sports and the golfing franchise and, as part of the deal, wear the famous logo on his shirt in all competitions throughout the year – the first time EA Sports has sponsored a golfer on the European Tour.

“We’re extremely excited to be partnering with Rhys Davies. He had an exceptional rookie year on the European Tour in 2010 and is sure to achieve even greater success in 2011,” said Shaun White – Senior PR Manager EA Sports. ”We will work with Rhys on several initiatives during the season and give gamers an insight into the life of a tour professional.”

The Augusta golf course has been the holy grail in a golf game and has very rarely, if ever, been seen.

With the announcement that Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 will feature this course, EA have released a little flyover video featuring all of the holes in all of their glory. As a little added bonus they have also released a flyover video for the San Antonio course too which will also be new to this years edition.
