The Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective App is now available on the App Store for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch.

Previously released on Nintendo DS to critical acclaim, the beloved mystery adventure game jumps to iOS. The game features intuitive touch screen controls for easy play, enhanced graphics in a wider viewing area for more immersive puzzle solving and is fully localised in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.

Created by Shu Takumi, the father of the critically acclaimed Ace Attorney series, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective combines his signature style of quirky humor, logic puzzles and an intriguing story wrapped in a unique art style. Players take on the role of Sissel, the ghost of a murder victim who has lost his memory and must solve the mystery of his suspicious demise. Gamers guide his blue-flamed soul through dynamic environments, possessing and manipulating inanimate objects found in the world to solve the captivating puzzles he encounters.

The Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective App is available for free from the App Store on iPad, iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore. The first two chapters are free with the download of the game. Subsequent chapters will be available in three different packs for £2.99/€3.99 each or £6.99/€7.99 for all chapters through In-App Purchase.

Just Cause 2: Ultimate Edition available on PS Store today

From today, PlayStation 3 owners across Europe will have access to the incredible Just Cause 2: Ultimate Edition, an adrenaline-fuelled compilation pack featuring the very best in sandbox gameplay, available for download in the PlayStation Store.

Final Fantasy VI available for PSN

Square Enix today announces Final Fantasy VI is now available for PS3 and the PSP via the PlayStation Network, priced €9.99/£7.99.

Final Fantasy VI has become a fan favourite since its original Japanese release in 1994. By bringing the PlayStation version to the PSN, players can once again adventure through a beautiful world using Chocobos and Zeppelins to aid their journey. Battles are brought to life by a host of loveable characters offering the player an armoury of skills, spells and numerous weapons.

3DS Update provides internet browser and store

Nintendo of Europe has announced that the first major system update for the hand-held Nintendo 3DS system will be available in Europe on 7^th June.

By performing the free update via a wireless broadband Internet connection, Nintendo 3DS users will have access to an Internet browser and the Nintendo eShop, which will give them access to a variety of new content, including Pokédex 3D, an application that lets fans see Pokémon characters in 3D.

To celebrate the grand opening of the Nintendo eShop, Nintendo is offering the NES game Excitebike re-mastered in 3D as a free download until July 7 for anyone who performs the system update. Additional new Virtual Console content available with the Nintendo eShop includes Game Boy games Super Mario Land, Alleywayand Tennis. New content is added to the Nintendo eShop every Thursday.

The Nintendo eShop is a digital store for Nintendo 3DS owners that provides access to a wide variety of downloadable content, such as original 3D software, classic games that have been re-mastered in 3D called 3D Classics, Game Boy and Game Boy Color “Virtual Console” games in their original 2D glory, and an extensive library of Nintendo DSiWaregames. Visitors can also view video game trailers, screen shots and product information for games, including those available at retail locations.

Within the Nintendo eShop, Nintendo 3DS users will also be able to download the free Pokédex 3D application and start collecting data for more than 150 Pokémon from the Pokémon Black and Pokémon White Version games. This new application lets users see each Pokémon in 3D with animated motion and sound. The Pokémon image can be rotated 360 degrees, allowing users to zoom in and view it from any angle. The detailed Pokédex also allows users to search, sort and filter all of the data they receive in a variety of ways, making it the essential guide for Pokémon fans. Players can complete their Pokédex by sharing data with friends and using the SpotPass feature, or by scanning special Pokémon AR Markers (augmented reality markers). Once users have received data for a Pokémon, the AR Viewer allows them to view that Pokémon image in a real-world setting in real time, and create photos to share with friends.

Other capabilities that go live with the system update include a free Internet browser which has the capability to show 3D images on sites specifically designed to show 3D images. The browser can also be used during gameplay. Users can stop their Nintendo 3DS game and go to the browser by pressing the Home button and then resume their game when they are finished browsing. People can also use the browser to download 3D pictures from the Internet or upload ones they have taken with the Nintendo 3DS cameras.

The system update also gives Nintendo DSi and Nintendo DSi XL owners the ability to easily transfer most of their previously purchased Nintendo DSiWare games to their new Nintendo 3DS systems.

The system update also gives users the ability to receive SpotPass content from supported public WiFi hotspots across Europe and in the near future, users will be able to download a free application for a short-form video service that will enable them to view specially selected video content, including 3D movie trailers, comedy clips and music videos automatically received using the SpotPass feature.

To perform the recommended system update, Nintendo 3DS users can simply start the “System Settings” from the Home Menu, select “Other Settings” and scroll the page right to select “System Update.”

With the re-launch of the Playstation Store comes a hell of a lot of content to fill it with. Sony have today given us the list of all the content that is in bound.

As you will see there is a lot of catching up to do but one thing you may want to be pointed towards is EA’s Fifa Ultimate Team add on free of charge.

Nintendo 3DS midnight launch store count gathers pace

Nintendo UK has today announced that over 1,200 stores in the UK are expected to open at midnight on 25^th Match to launch Nintendo’s new glasses free 3D entertainment device, Nintendo 3DS.

In addition to partnering with entertainment retailer HMV to officially launch its new portable 3D entertainment system, 13 additional stores across the UK will also host ‘VIP’ events at midnight for fans unable to make it to the official launch in London.

At the additional 13 ‘VIP’ events the first fans to purchase a Nintendo 3DS console at these locations will also be rewarded with the chance to pick up Nintendo 3DS software at substantial discounts or even for free*** and the first person lucky enough to be at the front of the queue will get a free taxi ride home.

HMV’s London flagship store at 150 Oxford Street will host the official UK retail launch event, including the first official customer purchase, when the console makes its UK debut at 00:01am on 25^th March 2011. The Oxford Street flagship will be one of 100 HMV stores around the country that will open specially at midnight, including also HMV’s LiverpoolOne superstore as the focus of a major regional launch outside of the capital.

Games enthusiasts attending the midnight launch at HMV Oxford Street will not only be among the first in the UK to get their hands on their very own Nintendo 3DS, but the first 500 to purchase the console will each be able to claim a free Nintendo 3DS game of their choice**. Fans attending the official launch will receive a special commemorative launch-night pack containing numerous Nintendo rewards, including a space blanket to keep them warm whilst queuing, a limited edition launch t-shirt and an exclusive Nintendo 3DS launch edition of Official Nintendo Magazine (whilst stocks last). They’ll also be in with a chance of taking to the stage to demonstrate their skills on Street Fighter IV and Pro Evolution Soccer in head-to-head battles live on stage, which will form part of the fantastic instore entertainment on the night.

“We’ve been blown away by both retail and consumer reaction to Nintendo 3DS”, says David Yarnton, General Manager, Nintendo UK. “With over 1,000 stores opening across the UK at midnight to launch the console, this has the potential to be one of our biggest launches ever in the UK.”
