    Sony announced yesterday that it will be releasing a handheld version of ModNation Racers for the PSP.“The PSP version will have all of the features of the PS3 version, with players able to create and upload their own racetracks to share with kart-racing lovers around the world, and race with up to six people in PSP’s Ad Hoc mode or online,” the company said.

    At present, there is no release date for the title but the PSP and PS3 release will be available at some point this year.

    Sony have confirmed that the beta for ModNation Racers will be available to a lucky few next week.The beta will go up on the Playstation store on January 22nd and will be available to the first 100,000 to download.  After that it will disappear from the store completely so get in there early.

    The lucky testers will get to race on four tracks, 2 of them being exclusive to Europe and will also get to test out the creation tools so you can get stuck into kart, character and track designs based around the Alpine course.

    ModNation Racers is a LittleBigPlanet style race affair that will be available towards the end of this year.  The beta will close on February 14th.
