The second pack of new multiplayer maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is now available in the UK for Windows PC with the release of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack.

The map pack will be available for download on the PS3 today, 7^th July.

Featuring five maps, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Pack can be downloaded for £10.99 from the PlayStation Store and from Steam for the PC.

The second pack of new multiplayer maps from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, will hit first on Xbox LIVE online entertainment network worldwide on June 3rd.

Although there are not a lot of details emerging we can say that the pack will be called the Resurgence Map Pack and will feature five maps.  The Resurgence Pack follows on the heels of the record-setting Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package of maps.

In a bunch of sales going on at the online section of specialist retailers, Game, MW2 is being offered at a very reasonable £19.99.

How long this will last we do not know but other noteable games on offer at the moment are Final Fantasy XIII for a mere £17.99, Nier for £14.99 and the original Modern Warfare title, pre-owned for a fiver!

As most of you may know, The Sunday night free-for-all matches have now ended, which has saddened many, cries and much wailing can be heard in remote places at the midnight hour, such is the loss felt.

Brief Details

Sunday nights were something to look forward to, getting together to battle it out with other gamers you know from the MG community, was a real treat. Add in the fantastic MW2 multiplayer action and you had a recipe for fun, banter, noob tubes and claymores.

If you thought that the smaller maps gave you little opportunity to survive more than three seconds before getting spawn-killed, then you’ll like the less hectic pace of the new league.

The matches will remain relaxed affairs, can’t make it one evening, no worries; Not that great at MW2, no problem, all levels of ability are welcome.

The format will change slightly to hardcore team death match, with everyone being auto-assigned to a team at the start of each match, so whilst it’s one team against another, scoring remains on an individual basis as before, making the pace a little less frantic than the previous league.

Microsoft today confirmed that last week’s release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package shattered Xbox LIVE records.

More than one million gamers worldwide downloaded the new map pack from Activision and Infinity Ward in the first 24 hours alone, surpassing the 2.5 million mark within the first week.

The map pack add-on, now available only on the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, extends the action-packed online entertainment experience with five multiplayer maps.

Xbox LIVE is the largest Call of Duty community of any entertainment system. According to Microsoft, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 players have invested more than 1.75 billion hours of gameplay on Xbox LIVE alone since the title’s release in November, which is equal to more than 200,000 years of gameplay playing Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.

It has come to our attention that the Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus DLC is suffering from launch day problems.

It appears that for it to work properly it needs to title update that was due to be released later on today.

Dan Maher, the xbox live editor had originally tweeted about the problem and that the guys were working hard to resolve it as quick as possible.

Major Nelson has also pitched in regarding the problem and is updating every 30 minutes or so as to how it is all coming along.  Rest assured, it will no doubt be resolved when the title update is rolled out but until then you will just have to hang tight.

No problems on the Battlefield content though as gamers started to enjoy the two new maps available free of charge without any hiccups.

Hold tight though Modern Warfare 2 fans, your time is coming.  Yes it is!

For all those MW2 fans that need a quick boost up the ranks, your time starts now as the double XP event has started a little earlier than expected.

According to community manager Robert Bowling, writing on his blog, “We’ve decided to throw the Double XP switch early when the new maps hit.”

Also, the new Stimulus DLC is available on on live today priced at a hefty 1200 points as a timed exclusive for the xbox live community.  More maps are also going to be added to the Headquarters Pro playlist as well as a few tweaks to other gametypes in a title update very soon.

In a story featured in one of the nation papers, Darren Bent and around 20 Sunderland players play MW2 with inter club “clan matches” going down.

The Black Cats striker says that around 20 of the players go online after their training sessions and also reveals that other clubs also have clans.  Bent said “Bent, 26, said: “About 20 of us play online every day without fail. Kieran Richardson’s the best – he’s called Vendetta. Kenwyne Jones is hopeless. He doesn’t put the hours in.”

Bent is also quoted as saying that Chelsea have a team and they are arranging as skirmish with them next.

Microsoft today revealed that Dylan Hartley, one of the hottest young rugby talents in the UK, will be recruiting all available Xbox LIVE fans from across the UK for a unique Game with Fame event.

To celebrate the launch of the downloadable content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package, Dylan will be playing the first multiplayer maps, available to download on 30^th March, exclusively on Xbox LIVE.

Developed by Infinity Ward, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 became a cultural phenomenon when it launched to the world in November, and Xbox LIVE now hosts the largest online gaming community for the game.

Dylan will be dropping in behind enemy lines on Thursday 1^st April at 12 noon GMT. To be in with a chance to join Dylan online for this unique event, players simply need to email their details to the address below, also telling Dylan why they want to play with him. Lucky gamers who are successful in applying will be emailed all the details they need to take part in the event.

News has just come across that Ignition have just announced a new Modern FPS called Blacklight Tango Down.

There has also been a teaser trailer and a few screens for this game that will head towards a summer release via xbox live, Playstation Network and PC.

Here’s what we know so far:-

Blacklight: Tango Down is a fast-paced first person shooter based in a new fictional universe called Blacklight.  Utilizing the cutting-edge graphical power of Unreal Engine 3, Blacklight: Tango Down’s near-future setting is brought to life with disturbingly detailed and old-world architecture dripping with modern sci-fi lighting and brightly lit advertisements, an effect that causes each environment to appear both futuristically alien as well as hauntingly familiar.

Blacklight: Tango Down will deliver some of the most exciting multiplayer gameplay available in the shooter category and features numerous gameplay styles and functionality.  These modes include traditional formats like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch & Control Point, with other modes being .announced in the build up to launch.

Blacklight: Tango Down will set itself apart from other games by virtue of its incredibly deep customization features.  Players will be able to alter and upgrade not only their character through experience gained on the battlefield, but also their weapons.  Weapon customizations will unlock as the player gains skill and experience points and will include more basic add-ons like sniper scopes as well as more complex enhancements, such as improved accuracy.
