Deep Silver to distribute Back To The Future: The Game

Deep Silver today announced a publishing agreement with Telltale, Inc. for the retail edition of Back to the Future : The Game.

Deep Silver receives the exclusive rights to publish and distribute the retail version of the game in the EMEA territories. The game was developed through a publishing agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing.

The phenomenally popular Back to the Future films literally changed the future of the adventure movie genre. Now, Telltale has developed a graphic adventure game that tells a fresh new time-travelling story where players will meet all the familiar characters that they’ve grown so fond of.

Back to the Future : The Game brings the iconic ‘Marty McFly’, ‘Doc Brown’ and the DeLorean Time Machine together in a completely new cinematic adventure. Six months after the events of the third film, the DeLorean Time Machine mysteriously returns to Hill Valley. ‘Marty’ must go back in time and recruit aid from a resistant teenage ‘Emmett Brown’, or else the space-time continuum will be forever unraveled.

Back to the Future : The Game features the likenesses of the original stars that made the characters of ‘Marty McFly’ and ‘Doc Brown’ legendary: Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd. Lloyd is voicing ‘Doc Brown’ in the English version.

Back to the Future : The Game will be released by Deep Silver for the PlayStation 3, for Wi™ and in some territories also for Windows PC. The game will be available in the following languages: English and German text and voice and in French (text only). The retail edition of Back to the Future: The Game will not be released “OUTATIME” but in the first quarter of 2012.

Square Enix to publish All Zombies Must Die in PAL territories

Square Enix today announces it has entered into a publishing deal with doublesix for the Xbox LIVE Arcade version of All Zombies Must Die!

The spiritual successor to 2009’s Burn Zombie Burn, doublesix’s latest adventure, All Zombies Must Die!, sees the main character Jack living out his fantasies as a gamer in a town overrun by zombies. Packed with playful humour, All Zombies Must Die! fuses many gameplay elements to create a frenetic action-packed RPG shooter offering the player and up to three friends non-stop Zombie-killing mayhem. The game’s RPG elements allow the player to level up characters, complete comical side quests and collect items to craft new weapons.

Antony Douglas, Digital Sales Director, Square Enix Europe comments, “All Zombies Must Die! has already received a great amount of interest from media and customers and we’re looking forward to working with doublesix on the XBLA launch. Original Assassin’s Creed to come bundled with PS3 version of Revelations

Today Ubisoft announced a special partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment offering the first PlayStation 3 players of Assassin’s Creed Revelations an opportunity to relive the beginnings of the epic Assassin’s Creed saga. In Assassin’s Creed Revelations, master assassin Ezio traces the footsteps of his predecessor, Altaïr Ibn-La’Ahad. Now, gamers will be able to go back to the beginning of the Assassin’s Creed storyline as the day one copies of Assassin’s Creed Revelations on PlayStation 3 will include a copy of the original Assassin’s Creed. Assassin’s Creed Revelations will be available on November 15, 2011.

Borderlands DLC half price

In celebration of the epic action adventure game, Borderlands, being introduced into the Games On Demand library on Xbox Live, Microsoft has cut the first three DLC episodes to 400 points as part of their deal of the week.

As part of the deal, The Zombie Island of Dr Ned, Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot and The Secret Armoury Of General Knoxx are getting the cut price treatment. We had the opportunity of reviewing all three of these and have given them very good marks indeed. As a bonus, Microsoft are also giving away 800 Microsoft points to anybody that purchases 2400 points or more so there is no better time to get them to satisfy your Borderlands craving.

Insomniac signs with EA partners for new publishing deal

Today, EA announced a publishing agreement with independent developer Insomniac Games that will bring the studio’s upcoming, all-new franchise to the PS3 and the 360.

This will be the first multiplatform release in Insomniac’s storied 16-year history. Published through the distinguished EA Partners program, the new title will mark the introduction of a brand new universe from Insomniac, creators of the universally-acclaimed Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank and Resistance franchises that have combined to sell more than 35 million copies worldwide. The still unnamed title is in production at the company’s Burbank studio. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“Working with EA Partners allows us to extend the reach of our games to a multiplatform audience while retaining ownership of the intellectual property,” said Ted Price, founder and CEO of Insomniac Games. “We are excited and eager to introduce Insomniac to a new group of gamers while reinforcing to our loyal fans what makes our games special.”

EA to publish RPG ‘Project Mercury’

EA yesterday announced an agreement with 38 Studios, LLC to publish the company’s first video game, an epic single-player role-playing game codenamed ‘Project Mercury’.

38 Studios is the creative enterprise of World Series MVP and avid gamer Curt Schilling. ‘Project Mercury’ is being developed at Big Huge Games, a wholly-owned subsidiary of 38 Studios, under the leadership of Ken Rolston, former lead designer of the critically acclaimed hits, Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The game marks the first entry into the company’s vast universe created by New York Times best-selling fantasy author R. A. Salvatore, with artistic direction by Todd McFarlane, renowned artist and creator of Spawn.

Fallout 3 game add ons half price soon

Yup, that’s right, all game add ons for Fallout 3 will be available for a mere 400 points in March.

As part of the House Party season from Microsoft and incorporated in the deal of the week for March 22nd, gamers will be able to pick up Operation Anchorage, Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta, The Pitt and Broken Steel for 400 points each.

Fallout 3 is a blockbuster RPG FPS set in the post apocalyptic setting of Washington and the surrounding areas. Published by Bethesda, the support for this game has been nothing short of phenominal and March definitely seems to be the time to get the game back out and treat yourself to some added gameplay on the cheap.

Mafia II buddies up with Playboy

2K Games announced today that it has signed a license agreement with Playboy magazine for a unique in-game integration to use more than 50 of their vintage covers and Centerfolds in Mafia II.

Set in the fully realised and immersive 1940s and 1950s American urban cityscape of Empire Bay, Mafia II will enable players to collect virtual copies of the iconic magazine, which has served as the definitive guide to lifestyle and culture for men since December 1953.

“While most mob-inspired games’ emphasis is solely on action, Mafia II features a deep and compelling narrative that is embellished with a sophisticated, era-evoking atmosphere,” said Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “In partnering with Playboy, we are able to add a unique element of authenticity to the game by using vintage images from the magazine that illustrate the power of Playboy’s influence on the attitudes and culture of that generation.”

Mafia II is a beautifully crafted look into the dark and unforgiving world of the Mafia where clothing, cars, music and advertising are meticulously created to replicate an American city in the ‘40s and ‘50s.
