DmC Devil May Cry release date announced

Capcom today announced the release date for DmC Devil May Cry.

Developed by critically acclaimed Cambridge based developer Ninja Theory in close collaboration with Capcom, DmC Devil May Cry will release for PlayStation3 and Xbox 360 on January 15 2013 in North America and Europe.

In addition, Capcom also confirmed that PC gamers will also be able to experience the title with the news that development of a Windows PC version is well underway with a release scheduled for later in 2013.

DmC Devil May Cry will be fully localised with voice talent in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian and in addition, Polish, Dutch, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese languages will be supported with localised text.

Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor film to release with game

Today Capcom announced a collaboration with Mamoru Oshii, the award winning director behind “Ghost in the Shell” and “Avalon”.

The renowned director has created a short live-action film entitled Steel Battalion Heavy Armor: Gosha to tie in with the release of the Xbox 360 exclusive, Steel Battalion Heavy Armor.

Steel Battalion Heavy Armor: Gosha focuses on Polish Vertical Tank pilot Gosha who, like Sgt. Powers from the game, commands her own VT squad. Follow Gosha as she goes to war, but it’s not just a war between global factions, but also the conflict that exists among those under her command.

Set in 2082, Steel Battalion Heavy Armor depicts a world devoid of computers, where war is waged with rudimentary weapons as new superpowers struggle for dominance. In this low-tech era there is one weapon class that will determine the course of the war – the Vertical Tank. Players take on the role of VT pilot Sgt. Powers as the battle to regain the United States from Chinese occupation begins.

The full film Steel Battalion Heavy Armor Gosha will be released online before Steel Battalion Heavy Armor ships on 19 June in the USA and on 22 June in European territories.

Marvel Vs Capcom 2 gets iOS release

Today Capcom released Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 on the App Store. Introducing a brand new control style using the innovative “Flick Button”, Marvel Vs Capcom 2 for iOS allows players to play this classic fighting game wherever they are.

The “Flick Button” mechanic introduces an easy way for players to access the more advanced attacks in Marvel Vs Capcom 2 with a fast swipe.

On top of this, Marvel Vs Capcom 2 will have the same features as previously released versions of the title, including the impressive 56 Character Roster, the game changing “Variable System” and all the powerful attacks that the favourite characters from the Marvel and Capcom universes have to offer.

Dragon’s Dogma demo coming end of April

We’re pleased to confirm that the previously announced playable demo of Capcom’s forthcoming open world action–RPG, Dragon’s Dogma, will be available to download globally via Xbox LIVE MarketPlace from and the North American PlayStation Store from Tuesday April 24 and on the European PlayStation Store the following day, Wednesday April 25.

With your party of three Pawns, the demo allows you to experience the different styles of two of the game’s character classes in two challenging encounters.

A melee specialist skilled in both attacks and counterattacks, as the Fighter you will make your way through underground tunnels and chambers before taking on the deadly Chimera in a Prologue quest, set before the events of the main game.

Swift and nimble, the Strider’s weapons of choice are bow and daggers, use them well if you are to defeat the mighty Griffin in the open plains surrounding the capital of Gransys.

Let your imagination run wild and design both your playable character and main Pawn using the game’s incredibly in-depth character creation tools before you take on the Griffin; purchasers of Dragon’s Dogma will then be able to export both these characters into the full game on its release.

Dragon’s Dogma is scheduled for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in North America on May 22 and across Europe on May 25.

Capcom releases Steel Battalion Heavy Armor Instructional video

Today sees the release of the Steel Battalion Heavy Armor instructional video on how to be a VT (Vertical Tank) Pilot. This video shows what is needed to successfully take command of a VT using a combination of the regular controller and Kinect for Xbox 360.

Everyone attending PAX East in Boston on April 6 until April 8 2012 will be able to play the game for the very first time. Players will be able to try out the Manhattan Beach Landing at the Capcom booth (950), while a brand new exclusive mission set in downtown New York is playable at the Microsoft booth (524).

Capcom today announced Devil May Cry HD Collection is now available at retail for the Xbox 360 and PS3.

Devil May Cry HD Collection brings the first three original Devil May Cry titles: Devil May Cry, Devil May Cry 2, and Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening Special Edition together in one high definition package for the first time ever.

Devil May Cry is one of Capcom’s most successful and critically acclaimed franchises, having sold more than 10 million units worldwide. Asura’s Wrath DLC out now

The first DLC for Asura’s Wrath arrives tomorrow, Wednesday March 28th across Europe on PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE with further updates scheduled in the coming weeks.

On March 28^th, Episode 11.5 provides players with an insight into what happens between two episodes from the full game. A week later on April 4^th, Episode 15.5 will arrive. Both offer a completely new artistic style taking their inspiration from the world of anime and will be available to purchase for 160 MS points each and €1.99 / £1.59 on PSN.

On the 25^th April we will be bringing players a bundle of four brand new action and rage packed episodes that continue the story of Asura’s rage and reveal an extra twist. The episodes bundle will be downloadable for 560 MS Points and €6.99 / £5.49 on PSN.

Arriving in May, the last of the Asura DLC promises Asura’s ultimate battles. Players will be able to take on Street Fighter favourites Ryu and Akuma with bonus content available in May. Asura will take on Ryu in a battle of the angriest on May 9^th before competing against the strongest, Akuma, on May 16^th. Both DLC packs will cost 160 MS points each and €1.99 / £1.59 on PSN.

Capcom announces free mission DLC for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

We’re pleased to confirm that owners of Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City will be able to experience the horror of the t-Virus outbreak through the eyes of the good guys with the release of a completely free of charge US Spec Ops DLC mission.

Available to download from April 11^th across Europe for both PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE users, players can take on the role of one of the following US Spec Ops members; Tweed, Dee-ay, Harley, Willow, Shona and Party Girl.

Deployed to Raccoon City to establish the truth behind what led to the deadly virus outbreak, the Spec Ops squad will meet a familiar face on their journey. Fans of the series will be able to re-visit the moment when Jill Valentine encounters the Nemesis, sent by Umbrella to eliminate all S.T.A.R.S members. On a battle field that can only exist within the terrifying Resident Evil universe, players will need to fight off the opposing team members from the Umbrella Security Service as well as zombies and B.O.W.’s to succeed in their mission.

Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City will be available across Europe on March 23^rd for Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The PC version will be available on May 18^th.

GAME will not stock Ninja Gaiden 3 and Warriors Orochi 3

GAME suffered another major setback today as yet another Publishers withdraws it games from GAME’s shelves. Tecmo Koei have announced that with regret they will not be allowing Ninja Gaiden 3 and Warriors Orochi 3 to be stocked at GAME.

This follows news and a confirmation that Capcom are pulling the release of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City from the trouble company also.

“TECMO KOEI Europe regrets to announce that upcoming releases Ninja Gaiden 3 and Warriors Orochi 3 for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 will not be available through GAME and Gamestation retail outlets or online in the UK and Ireland.

Customers who have already pre-ordered Ninja Gaiden 3 and Warriors Orochi 3 are kindly asked to re-order their copies from another retailer.

Ninja Gaiden 3 is available through HMV, ASDA, BLOCKBUSTER and leading independent retailers as well as online outlets Play.com, Zavvi.co.uk, Amazon.co.uk, ShopTo.net, the Hut and others.

Yesterday The Game Group share price fluctuated as investors dumped stock, while the company issued a statement in response to a Times story that it was for sale.

Staff have reportedly ready been warned to prepare for administration, and GAME and Gamestation stores across the country are cutting prices across all current stock.

Steel Battalion: Heavy Armour dated

Capcom is pleased to confirm Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor will be available exclusively for Xbox 360 on June 19 in North America and June 22 across European territories.

Taking full advantage of Kinect for Xbox 360, players will experience war like never before. Today also saw the release of a brand new trailer which tells the story of Sgt. Powers, the game’s main protagonist, and his platoon. During the game, thanks to Kinect, players will be able to build an emotional connection with the men and women from Powers’ battalion as they pilot their Vertical Tanks to victory. This relationship between the player and the platoon will be crucial for the outcome of the war.
