Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announces the release of Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, now available to download on PlayStation Network in Europe from today.

This collection offers players a chance to go back to the beginning and check out the first three games in the legendary franchise and you can take a glimpse into the downloadable title’s classic Mortal Kombat gameplay in the title’s launch trailer.

For £6.29 on PSN, the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection offers fans the first three games in the series – the original Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 – and online play, leader boards, achievements and trophies, as well as the chance to play through the games in their original arcade state. Developed by Other Ocean in conjunction with NetherRealm Studios, this collection marks the first time all three games have been brought together in one package.

SEGA have announced the launch of their highly anticipated racing game, SEGA Rally Online Arcade.

The game includes several modes of single and multi-player gameplay, all featuring the intense, fast-paced racing of SEGA Rally presented in High Definition. SEGA Rally Online Arcade is available on Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 for 800 Microsoft Points.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection for PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE Arcade and Windows PC via digital distribution.

For the first time ever, the original Mortal Kombat arcade trilogy – Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 – have been brought together into a single collection which will be available for download in late Summer 2011.

“We are very excited to finally have the first three Mortal Kombat games available in one download package for long-time and new fans to play,” said Ed Boon, Creative Director, NetherRealm Studios. “With the release of our 2011 Mortal Kombat, and its return to 2D game play, players have been asking for these classic titles and we are happy to deliver them.”

Capcom announces 3 new titles at Captivate

Capcom today officially announced three new titles, Dragon’s Dogma, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record and Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition in development.

These titles were first revealed, along with details of the company’s 2011/2012 game lineup, at its annual media showcase event, Captivate, which took place in Miami last week.

From the creators behind some of Capcom’s best action games, including the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 4 and Devil May Cry 4, comes their next opus, Dragon’s Dogma. Set in a huge open world, Dragon’s Dogma is a unique action experience that blends exciting and fulfilling combat with the freedom to explore and interact in a rich, living and breathing world. With your party of three you set out on an epic adventure to track down and destroy a mysterious dragon. Along the way you’ll encounter some of the biggest and baddest beasts ever to roam the land, and only skilful play and tactical teamwork can save the day.

Utilizing an enhanced version of Capcom’s proprietary MT Framework engine that delivered the groundbreaking graphical styles and lighting effects used in Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2, Dragon’s Dogma expands the environment to create a vast, richly detailed world, ripe for exploration. Dragon’s Dogma will deliver a whole new world of action to PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012.

Dead Rising 2: Off The Record, sees Wilamette survivor and hero of Dead Rising, photojournalist Frank West, take centre stage as players experience a very different interpretation of events in this, a reimagining of the Fortune City outbreak. Forget what took place in Dead Rising 2, this is Frank’s story told as only he can.

This alternate storyline means an all new Dead Rising 2 experience; with Frank facing new missions, new enemies, new combo-weapons with which to defeat them plus a brand new Fortune City attraction to explore. Complimenting the new narrative and action of Dead Rising 2: Off The Record are enhancements to elements such as the save system and the co-op experience to deliver more satisfying gameplay. More specifically, the add-on version of Arcade Edition will be available as a downloadable upgrade for existing Super Street Fighter IV owners on June 7 for 1200 MS Points or €14.99, with a full console retail product following on June 24 in Europe and June 28 in North America, respectively, and a PC version in July.

Captivate attendees were able to experience some of Capcom’s future hits for the first time, with playable versions of recently announced squad-based shooter Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, the fighting genre’s dream match-up Street Fighter X Tekken and hard-hitting action title Asura’s Wrath all debuting at the event alongside Dragon’s Dogma, Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition. Media were also able to join forces in the war on horror with the first showing of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D’s co-op mode.

Warner Bros Interactive announce Bastion for the 360 this summer

Warner Bros. Interactive today announces a partnership with independent development studio Supergiant Games to publish the highly-anticipated original action role-playing game, Bastion.

Reflecting Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment’s continued expansion into the digital gaming market and its commitment to high-quality original content, Bastion will debut this summer on Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360.

The game will be available for consumers to play at PAX East March 11- 13 in both the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Supergiant Games booths, where players can experience the unique game firsthand. Bastionhas received numerous accolades since its 2010 unveiling, including an award for “Best New IP” at the popular PAX Prime event, where the game was also selected among the elite “PAX 10” independent games of the show. Additionally, Bastion was nominated for the “Excellence in Audio” and “Excellence in Visual Art” awards at the 2011 Independent Games Festival.

“We are looking forward to working with Supergiant Games to bring the unique gaming experience in Bastion to all types of players,” said Martin Tremblay, President of Warner Bros. The game is dynamically narrated, gradually revealing a rich back-story as the narrator reacts to the player’s actions in real time, giving context and deeper meaning to their interactions in the world around them.

In Bastion, players assume the role of “the Kid,” a survivor of a cataclysmic event that shattered the world around him, as he faces the monumental task of constructing a safe haven for him and his loved ones from broken remnants of the past. As players journey into the wild unknown, they will confront strange beasts, forge an array of customizable weapons, and gain new powers from specially-brewed spirits.

The game will also be available on PC later this year.

Breach release date confirmed

Atomic Games announced today it has the certified gold master of Breach for Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 and PC . Breach will officially launch on January 26^th, 2011 worldwide on both platforms.
Atomic is also detailing the Windows PC version of Breach which will launch in both download form and at major retailers. The Windows PC version will feature support for larger explosions, particle effects and more through NVIDIA PhysX technology. It will also feature a higher performance Hardcore Mode for players looking to play the way operatives train. As one final note for Windows PC gamers everywhere, Atomic listened and included dedicated server support, with remote administration.

Breach will cost 1200 Microsoft points through Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 or be available on Windows PC for around £15. It has been rated PEGI 16.

Breach is unlike any other game. It is the first military shooter to use precise and massive destruction to change the very nature of multiplayer combat. Combined with an advanced cover system where players can use cover even while it is being destroyed around them, Breach enables real-world tactics never possible before now. Breach offers this destruction and active cover system all in a package that costs less than £15.
