There are two things that the Japenese love in gaming. A decent RPG and a decent mech combat game. Any one of the two genres get released and you can immediately guarantee that it will hit the number one spot, as was the case with Armored Core V earlier this year.

Sometimes I like to take time away from the killing machine of online play and relax with something a little less hostile facing me. If my kids are around I also like to refrain from playing the more mature games in favour of the Wii or something a little light hearted.

It’s been a while since an arena twitch shooting title has been released. Well, it’s actually been 4 years ago when the last bastion of the genre reared up and sucked people in. Yup, Unreal Tournament III had eyes on stalks mayhem whilst providing all of the trimmings to make it a success.

The original version of SSX was one of those games for me that sticks in my mind so much that I still remember exactly where I was when I first played it.

Very few games have sent a shiver down my spine for quite a few years now but the originality of Alan Wake, its divine story telling and outstanding pace combined with Hitchcockesque suspense left my nails shredded and my heart beating a lot faster than it should.

It was a sad day for the racing genre when the original Microsoft Wireless Force Feeback wheel was discontinued. Here was a wheel of reasonable build quality that delivered a sense of realism at a very reasonable price.
