EA Play, have today released more information about the new expansion pack for Sims 3 which is due to be released on 20th November 2009 for the Mac and PC.

“We’re thrilled with the global success of The Sims 3 over these last few months and are looking forward to expanding on the gameplay experience with one of the most robust expansion packs to The Sims yet,” said Scott Evans, General Manager of The Sims at EA. “Players will be able to take their Sims on the adventure of a lifetime and explore lands outside of Sunset Valley and Riverview, pursue thrilling new life destinies in locations around the world inspired by famous destinations, and immerse themselves in the open-ended gameplay where they’ll discover new cities in China, France and Egypt and share new stories.”

Players can take their Sims on new journeys to famous real-world inspired destinations around the globe for the first time ever and seek out new adventures. While exploring the landmarks of an exotic city, there is no telling what the Sims will find. From mastering martial arts in Shang Simla, China, discovering rich culture and famous landmarks on a romantic getaway to Champs Les Sims, France or exploring the depths of ancient tombs in Al Simhara, Egypt, players can take their Sims on a journey that will change their Sims’ lives. Players can accept challenges to search for secret treasures, learn new skills and chase down new personal opportunities, meet new Sims with unique personalities, share their culture and bring them home, discover new styles on their travels, and share everything they encounter on their adventures with the world through personal photographs, movies, and stories. Additionally, players will receive 1,000 SimPoints to be used online in The Sims 3 Store for the PC/MAC versions of the game. Exclusive online content, available only for the expansion pack at launch, will be revealed soon.

The tomb exploration missions have already been announced but EA have also announced today the inclusion of kung fu fighting too.  For the first time ever, Sims can now spar and master Martial Arts when they travel to Shang Simla, China!

TRAIN – The Phoenix Academy of Martial Arts in Shang Simla, China is the best place to begin the path of the righteous. However, those who wish to train outside of China may purchase the Training Dummy, Board Breaker, and books to take home. Only after much practice with the training dummies, and the breaking of many boards will your Sim be on the path to righteous victory! To truly master the discipline of Martial Arts in The Sims 3 World Adventures, your Sim must defeat several worthy opponents in the Grand Tournament of China.

PRACTICE – Martial Artists love to spar and hone their skills in friendly combat. As a reward, Martial Artists receive new training outfits with colorful belts to denote their skill and aptitude in the craft. Sparring is a great way to develop your Sims skills, build friendships, and show off cool new belts obtained as reward!

CENTER – Meditation is key to obtaining focus and mental peace of mind. A powerful fist is nothing without a stronger mind. Focused Martial Artists are able to teleport, making them incredibly powerful.

MASTER – Master Martial Artists are so powerful they can summon the magical elements from nature itself to aid them in their battles against evil!

TEACH – Top Level Martial Artists may train others, further strengthening the ranks of disciplined martial artists throughout the world.
