Nes cart, Stadium Events sells for over $41,000!

A rare, sealed copy of NES cart Stadium Events has sold on ebay for $41,300.Considered as one of the holy grail of games, this version was thought to be only one of two sealed copies in existence and has gone stellar in the auction because of it.

The seller, known as “Dave” explained why it was still sealed and I would imagine is so glad that he kept it that way. “The pads weren’t available when we went to purchase it,” said Dave. “We never got around to returning the game…lucky us!”

“After taxes and tithing, the rest of our part will be going to a retirement account that has been decimated by the dot-com bomb, 9/11, and the recent market problems. Not very sexy, but needed.”

We’re all used to a few rarities popping up for good money (check out that cardboard boxed Ico with cards – £90 odd now!) but this has to one of the biggest sales so far, eclipsing sales for Gold copies of Nintendo World Championships on the NES by over double the amount.

Best start to have a look through the attic guys.
