It feels strange to think that a Publisher that is in trouble would receive our Publisher of the Year Award but it has and there’s a good reason too. Although THQ’s troubles seems to come from signing long term contracts with cartoon and digital animation companies to try and develop games based on these IP’s a lot of people seem to overlook the fact that THQ have some great IP of their own and is something that has got our attention. The release of UFC Undisputed 3, WWE 13, Darksiders II as well as a couple of other titles and IP they still hold for release next year if they survive was enough to justify it’s award for Publisher of the Year.
We have a lot of respect for THQ, they need your backing and we feel that you need to put as much support behind them as possible. In a year of follow ups and franchise tags, THQ went out of their way to take risks, some haven’t paid off which has led to the problems but at least they had the balls to try.
Honourable mentions:- Valve, Bethesda, Ubisoft
