MG Gaming Awards 2012 – Game Of The year – Borderlands 2
To say that the original Borderlands game was an eye opener when it released in 2009 is an understatement. Gearbox and 2K released fresh IP unto the world in the face of a financial crisis and, well, blew the bloody doors off of gaming. Borderlands 2 looked to do the same in 2012 also and to be quite honest, has in many respects. Yup, it still has bugs and is perhaps not as original as the original BUT Gearbox have delivered a game that addressed a lot of the faults of the original, made the game bigger, badder and bolder whilst capturing the feel of the original that made it so popular.
It doesn’t matter if you’re playing single player or in the games’ drop in and out co-operative mode the amount of quests, gazillions of guns, loveable and deadly characters as well as polished graphics and an open world to die for (you may well do) has made Borderlands 2 the choice of a lot of our writers.
