GT5 not coming until Autumn

The up and down story of Sony’s hyper game Gran Turismo 5 has taken another twist today with reports saying that it will not be released until at least Autumn.

According to Sony Entertainment Portugal CEO James Armstrong in an interview with Canarias Al Dia (via GT Planet), Armstrong was quoted saying: “We believe that launching the product this fall, before Christmas, but not yet decided,” which, in real English, would mean it’s not out until autumn although a date STILL isn’t set.

Sony must be a little worried now as the game has been in development for over 5 years with a production cost of now over $60 million.  We know the company will make the money back easily but will the public cause a backlash over the will it, won’t it release dates that have been hitting the news for the last year?
