Activison, the producers of the Call of Duty franchise have been repeatedly quoted stating that Infinity ward is all ok even after the dismissal of Vince Zampella and Jason West from the company in early 2010.

A report has come to light which begs to differ, according to the report on the LA Times’  Company Town blog, both Raven Software and Sledgehammer games have been drafted in to help develop Modern Warfare 3 which even though still un announced is believed to be penned for a November 2011 release in line with previous titles.

The report claims that by speaking to ”People familiar with the situation” they found that singularity and soldier of fortune developer Raven, will be working on the development of the multiplayer gaming almost as a standalone dev. They also believe that Sledgehammer, which is led by a team recruited away from Activision’s rival Electronic Arts Inc, will be working alongside remaining Infinity Ward staff members to produce the single player elements of the title.

Sledgehammer are believed to have halted development of its own game based as a spin off of the Call of Duty franchise, to help out.

Infinity Ward and Activision are yet to comment officially.
