I won’t be on live for a little while.
I was awoken at 530 am Friday by my iphone pinning to find multiple transactions in paypal from Microsoft. (I’d used paypal to buy xbox live sub that was on offer through the xbox). And all my MS points had disappeared.
It seemed my xbox live and passport had been hacked, lucky its through paypal so they are reclaiming the funds. Microsoft are investigating the hacking and have locked down my account, so no xbox live for while. they’ve stipulated 25 days, however a trawl through forums shows MS have been a bit shoddy sorting this out for other customers.
The real bummer of all this is no on-line gaming for while So i’ll give you all a shout when i’m back on…..I’m sure you’ll miss lapping me in Forza .
that sucks matey. Do you think that it maybe via your e-mail account? Good to know that you’ll get transactions back though. I hope it gets resolved soon
THanks Gaz, got my money back, just waiting for microsft. Looking at the transaction its like whoever hacked purchased ms points. A bit strange really.
Hopefully they will be able to track who ever did it down.
These people are the lowest of the low.
It does worry me how much ‘we’ have invested in digital/online purchases and accounts and they are so easily hackable!!
I am really awry about only having a download key as proof I have bought something, rather pay and have a disc.
Saying that I have no choice with Xbox. I really don’t like the fact that M$ can just remove content I have purchased off the marketplace at any-time, so if I need it again it’s gone. Ah well.
After 3 weeks my Xbox Account is alive again. Just had my account restored and might get an hour or two in before I set off to work for a week. BF3 withdrawal symptoms set in two weeks a go so I may get a fix later.
What a pain the arse though. 3 weeks to fix.
