Remember me
So I went to the effort of completing the pirate campaign on play through 1 to see if tough bastard was any easier there.
Apparently not, he still comes through as a 52 so there is literally no way, with my current gear, I’m going to be able to solo him.
Who else as the pirate dlc so we can team up on this guy and get some of those seraph crystals?
There is also another raid boss after this that will probably be even harder
I’m always game!
I’ll let you know when I’m free then
I bought the season pass last night and dl’d the pirate campaign. I’ve only got a level 37 siren though so probably not much use to you, and I’ll need to finish the campain first I guess.
You won’t need to do any of the campaign Kev, you’ll still be useful, but maybe not doing much in the way of damage at 37. It’ll just be helpful to have an extra body to be running around.
Its a big area and although he has a big area of effect in the second half of the fight being spread out should mean he can only hurt one of us at a time.
Has your Siren got the revive from distance ability? That’ll obviously be helpful as well :p
Sorry but kevin won’t last the first nova not a chance, I need to do this and will be about tonight and tomorrow for the most willing and able.
Cheer’s Terry, I’ll work my way through it and then start PT2 to get my Siren upto a 50 then
He is a nightmare Kev went in with four and super guns at 50 it was close but still got owned, sooo frustrating, his nova is a double nova first takes your sheild second takes your health, I have 83000 health and just survive getting downed.
Mmm. I was assuming he’d be drawn to those causing him damage, if Kevs Siren was on the opposite side would he not be clear of his attacks?
You all know what the agenda is now anyway, so next time a few of us are on we’ll give him a go and take it from there, maybe tonight?
Incidentally Kev I really enjoyed the baddies in the pirate levels so don’t mind sitting in alongside as you play through, I know there are only a few of us with the season pass thus far.
Anyone heard anything about the next DLC, I’m assuming it’ll bring a new level cap. Make a call Gary
Thats cool chart, I’m over levelled atm so ripping thru it gaining little xp.
Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage is imminent. Sounds like a a Mad moxi’s style hoarde mode tbh. Details: http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-11-16-how-mr-torgues-campaign-of-carnage-is-a-yet-another-medley-of-madness
This guy is absolutely doing my nut in now.
3 times in a row I’ve managed to get him down to about a quarter of his health, but as soon as he loses that last minion he fucks me up everytime.
I’ve got my build to the point where despite what feels like low health (70k) I’ve got a good enough cooldown on my gunserker to deploy everytime he does his normal cycle of nova’s. That gives me 50% health back instantly plus extra health regen.
Using the Bee shield and two Conference Calls, my plan of attack then, if your interested, as been to… 1. Hit him as hard as possible from distance at the beginning before his minions appear 2. Circle constantly taking down two of the four minions so they’re not helping Hyperious, he then takes enough damage directly without needing to take out the other two. Meaning he never deploys that third nova which he’ll do if he loses all four minion shield boosts 3. Hit my gunserker as the second nova wave comes at me to keep me going, I do a few slow paced shots whilst in this, but I like making use of the ammo regen here Keep doing 2 & 3, my problem however is that the distance I’m keeping from them so I don’t get hit by missiles and anything else is causing too much spread on my shotguns, meaning the remaining two minions will go down at some point.
Does anyone have a handle on his routine once they’re gone? He seems to do his double nova’s twice as often (I can’t keep up with my gunserker cooldown). I can handle the jumping and the missiles but there is sod all I can do if he routinely takes out all my health and shield the way he does.
I’m thinking I’ll have more success with using a more accurate weapon with less spread than the shotguns so I can keep those minions alive until the end.
I’m tempted to stick with this strategy when there are more in the room as well, have one person take down two minions, with everyone else dealing with hyperious, using something other than shotguns/smgs.
I will bury this guy someday :/
That day is today
I tried my above plan with the infinity pistol, thinking I could keep at least 2 minions alive for the whole fight, but he started jumping at me with about a 5th of his health left, jumping with minions still boosting his shields. Grrrr.
So back to the conference call, relaxed my strategy a bit and concentrated on having full health, shield and gunserker at the point that the last minion went down. He seemed to stay in sequence then so I just avoided his jumping and took my time. Boom.
Now onto Master Gee. :/
Well done fella
