Harmonix and MTV Games today confirmed the entire 83 song on-disc soundtrack for the highly anticipated Rock Band 3.

The game will include new tracks from Jimi Hendrix, Avenged Sevenfold, Paramore, The White Stripes, Jane’s Addiction, Phish, Anthrax, The Cure, Bob Marley, Def Leppard, Ozzy Osbourne, Dire Straits, The Smiths, Foreigner, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Doors and many more. Rock Band 3 will be released Oct. 26 in North America and Oct. 29 in the rest of the world for the Xbox 360, PS3,  Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS.

“The Rock Band 3 soundtrack represents the strongest, most diverse collection of music ever assembled for a video game,” said Paul DeGooyer, senior vice president of electronic games, music and programming for MTV Games. “The addition of keyboards and vocal harmonies to the Rock Band platform massively broadens the music selection available to our players. You haven’t sung Queen’s epic “Bohemian Rhapsody” unless you’ve sung the harmony parts – and you can’t do that unless you have Rock Band 3.”

Capcom is happy to announce that Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO, the prologue to its upcoming game, Dead Rising 2, is  available today exclusively on Xbox LIVE.

Players who download Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO will get their first glimpse into the world of Dead Rising 2 as they are introduced to the new protagonist in the series, Chuck Greene, along with new game play features of Dead Rising 2, ahead of its European release on September 24, 2010.

For 400 Microsoft Points, the prologue will give players a first taste of the zombie-slaughtering fun of combo weapons and ‘psycho’ boss fights. Character attributes collected in Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO will also carry over into the main game such as Player Level, to a maximum of five, Prestige Points alongside skills, Combo Cards and a number of alternate outfits.

Starting today, Microsoft is inviting everyone to bear witness to the heroism of Noble Team, as depicted in a dramatic, live-action short for the launch of the biggest game of the year on 14^th September.

Titled “Deliver Hope,” the short is a riveting, action-packed production that offers an emotional look at the courage and sacrifice of Noble Team in their defense of the planet Reach from a crushing Covenant invasion.

“Deliver Hope” debuts today at Halo.Xbox.com, on Halo Waypoint and on www.bungie.net, introducing the epic nature of the “Halo: Reach” story and continuing the tradition of bringing the “Halo” universe to life via gripping live-action shorts. On Sunday 29^th August the Halo : Reach ”Deliver Hope” 60 second TV advert will premiere globally on Channel 4 at 23:40 during the film ‘The Seeker: The Dark is Rising’.

“Deliver Hope” is the dramatic capstone to the series of live-action ads from acclaimed director Noam Murro (“Smart People”), who also directed the “Halo: Reach” “Birth of a Spartan” short and a collection of live-action vignettes housed at RememberReach.com. An extended version of “Deliver Hope” will debut exclusively on YouTube the week of 6^th September.

“Deliver Hope” features an original musical score written and produced by Human, with Brian Emerich (“The Wrestler”) as sound designer. The short was directed by Noam Murro and edited by Angus Wall (“The Social Network”), and was filmed on location in Prague. For the production of “Deliver Hope,” Microsoft and Bungie partnered with top industry talent including ad agency Agency 215, Legacy Effects (props) and Method Studios (visual effects).

Ginx TV, a global operator of video gaming channels and producer of the gaming television show Gameface, today announced the launch of a dedicated UK TV channel.
Ginx TV UK will hit the airwaves by the end of November 2010 and is aiming to be fully distributed across Sky and Virgin Media Networks. Ginx TV is looking at both High Definition and Standard Definition distribution.

The announcement was made by Ginx TV CEO Michiel Bakker at Edinburgh Interactive, the games industry’s cross business gathering at the Edinburgh Festival, the world’s largest arts Festival. Bakker was one of the original founders of MTV Networks Europe in 1987 and was also Chairman of Nickelodeon and Paramount Networks.

Bakker commented: “Launching our channel in the UK, the world’s second largest videogaming market, will propel Ginx to the big league. The next step for me is to accelerate the roll-out of fully localised channels in key markets around the globe.

“Video gaming is the only massively mainstream entertainment genre without a dedicated channel. My ambition here, is to do for gaming what MTV did for music. Video Gaming has broken through into mainstream entertainment, yet is thoroughly under-represented on TV. “

Ginx TV recently completed a successful fundraising round.

Mature-gaming has had its spot in the limelight with Editor, Gary Weeks appearing on XLeague TV’s talk show, Games Night.  Unfortunately, the channel has since been removed when the company was sold off.  Various channels and programmes have been formed in the past, with little success so let’s hope we get the content to keep the viewers happy this time around and Ginx TV is a keeper.
