Feature: An ode to Call Of Duty

Everyone loves a bit of culture, don’t they? Well, out resident Laureate, Craig has started to get a little poetic! Check out his ode to Call Of Duty.
Scrambling across the battlefields, you’ve come to face the danger,
Teaming up with your friends or even with a stranger,
Do you choose to rush straight in, with your guns blazing?
Or do you take the stealth approach, for your sniper skills are amazing.
Where is the enemy hiding, you know they are around,
But through your scope you see nothing, they must have gone to ground
Then suddenly the barrage starts and all your team fall dead,
Then oh so quickly do you follow them, taking a bullet to the head.
But in this world death has no grip and shortly you are reborn,
How strange it is to not fear war with infinite respawns.
Now your heart is pumping, your mind set on revenge,
Determined to kill them all, on you victory depends.
You decide to try and sneak around and take them by surprise,
So you head off to climb that hill and conquer its step rise
Suddenly you see movement, there’s a sniper in the grass,
Silently you creep up to them and knife them in the ass.
Now you’ve flanked behind the enemy, who are bunkered in a house
The stealth part of your mission is through, now its time to pounce
Time to make some deafening noise, you really do not care
As you pull the pin from your grenade and lob it through the air
They try to run for cover, as it drops right at their feet,
But you cooked the nade just nicely, as it bring about their defeat
Now your killstreak is high enough, you call in air support,
Enemies try to take you down, noob tubes their last resort
You dodge the shells by hitting the deck, you’re really on a roll
The enemies get gunned down, as a chopper answers your call
Bodies go flying everywhere, while survivors rush for cover,
Now they’re cowering in a house and praying for their mothers
Your skills in battle are deadly, there can be no dispute
Now its time to end the war, as you call in a tactical nuke
Your enemies stare up in wonder, the sight is a real beauty
Now they know why you came and answered your call of duty
